TECH ART:MICROCHIP ART
The next time you look at all the lines and blips on a circuit board, don’t think all of it is there for a reason. There are loads of ICs with small, invisible designs on them, ranging from fi re breathing Godzilla’s to really tiny Rams. If you want to discover these on ICs that you find, you will have to look using a really powerful magnifying glass. Just make sure that the sun is not behind you when you are hunting though. Microchip art does serve a purpose however; they are there to make sure that no one copies the design, as copied designs will have a flag in the form of the chip art as well.
This makes sure that piracy in the silicon manufacturing industry is sure to be caught. We just wonder if manufacturers of all kinds of silicone products mark them in some way.
